We started our weekend off with a private tasting at Columbia Winery. I really feel like we learned so much, and suprisingly I seemed to enjoy the Red Wines over the White.
The following day we went over to Saint Michelle for a tour and another private tasting. Yes we were there at 10:00am. We were the first one's there, and the last time I started drinking that early was college!
The grounds are beautiful!
This is where our private tasting was held. They gave a plate of meats, cheeses, and fruit with our wines. During the tasting they showed us how to pair our wines with food. The most suprising thing was that you should never serve grapes with wine, it completely changes the wine and not in a good way. You have to try it. Take a sip of wine, eat a grape, and then take another sip of wine- NOT GOOD!
All of those barrels are full of red wine!
After Saint Michelle we walked a few block to a couple of other tasting rooms. I was really suprised, there are 50 or more tasting rooms within walking distance from Willows Lodge. One of my favorite was Dusted Valley, it was really good wine. Brit and I have become member of their Stained Tooth Club!
